NBS Homecoming, much like the renowned Homecoming events at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the warm gatherings at religious homecoming events in churches, embraces the spirit of fellowship and camaraderie among its members, both long-standing and new. While the origins of HBCU homecomings are difficult to trace precisely, the modern alumni-centered celebrations surrounding fall football games date back to at least Morehouse College’s jubilation in 1924.

However, NBS Homecoming sets itself apart by creating a unique and exhilarating experience. It serves as a captivating introduction for budding Snowsports enthusiasts to the thrilling world of skiing and snowboarding. Beyond its core purpose of teaching these snowsports, NBS Homecoming is a cherished occasion that nurtures friendships, fosters community, and celebrates the rich tapestry of Black and Latino culture.

By uniting skiers of color with supportive ski clubs within the NBS, the event establishes a strong network of encouragement and support. It not only imparts the necessary skills on the slopes but also instills the treasured traditions that have propelled the NBS to become the largest Ski Organization in the United States.
